Kyro is a 9 year old, entire male Staffordshire Bull Terrier that was referred to our orthopaedic specialist for an MRI scan and possible spinal surgery. He had classic signs of disc protrusion; sudden onset paresis, prolonged reflexes and limping on his hind limbs. After the disc protrusion was identified and located on the MRI images, our orthopaedic specialist performed surgery on the spinal cord. The orthopaedic specialist made a buffer from fat to surround the spinal cord. A post surgery MRI scans was performed for comparison, the fat pad and the spinal cord margins where visible with high detail. Kyro is currently enjoying life and is almost completely recovered from surgery.
